While you were probably in a rush to meet the end of year deadlines and to do your Christmas shopping, IBM released the IBM Maximo 126.96.36.199 Feature Pack. As always, IBM has fixed many bugs from older versions. In addition, IBM has added new functionality. Let us take you a quick tour of some of the 188.8.131.52 highlights.
Main enhancements are introduced in the Work Center area. An increasing number of everyday tasks are now possible from within the Work Centers. The Work Supervision Work Center comes with optimized views and now supports the creation of new work orders. The Work Execution Work Center allows users to accurately report details on the completed work. The option to conduct an Inspection of the Work Center has obtained a considerable number of new features as well.
As the options grow, the Work Centers will increasingly become a consideration for replacement of the common Maximo applications, at least for some of the roles in your organization. For now, it cannot nearly match the features of standard Maximo. However, as stated, IBM makes it more appealing to start using Work Center by adding new features in a glossy, yet simple user interface.
Apart from the Work Center enrichments, 184.108.40.206 has a number of tiny but cool enhancements: IBM has added a system property (mxe.filter.assets.bysite) that will filter the Assets in such a way that only those from the Site of the work order or ticket are shown.
Another new system property – mxe.app.workorder.allowHistoryWO – will now allow users to add a closed or canceled work order or change to the Related Records tab.
When sending Communications, be reminded that as of now you can set the Send From address to read-only via a system property. In addition, the from address will default to the current user’s email. If the user does not have a valid email address, ‘Send From’ will default to the System Administrator’s email address. Of course, you can still configure it to be a standard email address, e.g. your service desk address, if you want to.
Overall, the list of fixes and new features should certainly make you consider an upgrade to 220.127.116.11.
